Featured Project: A Warm Retreat in Easthampton
At Axiom Landscape and Home Improvement, we believe that truly successful renovations require equal parts vision, planning, and artistry. For all of our customers including this Easthampton homeowner, we:
-
Took Time to Listen: We collaborated closely on their vision, ensuring every detail would enhance the home’s warmth and comfort.
-
Planned Before Demolishing: By mapping out each element—dormer placement, flooring, custom hearth, and lighting solutions—we minimized surprises and maximized impact.
-
Honored Quality Materials and Techniques: From hand-hewn woodwork to precision-laid floors, we take pride in every design choice and construction step.

When our client first approached Axiom Landscape and Home Improvement, they had a simple but powerful goal: transform a “good enough” two-story home in Easthampton into a bright, warm retreat from the hustle and rush of everyday life. We believed in taking the time to plan and design thoroughly before starting any work. The result? A jaw-dropping renovation that blends modern openness with handcrafted details—truly the best of both worlds.
Phase One: Elevating the Second Floor
-
Dormer Addition: To bring in natural light and maximize space, we began by adding a dormer on the second floor.
-
Open Floor Plan with Walkable Glass Panels: The once-traditional second floor is now airy and dynamic. Glass panels not only let sunlight stream through but also add a modern, architectural flair.
-
Cathedral Ceilings with Exposed Beams: These soaring ceilings create a sense of grandeur while showcasing the home’s rustic character.
-
Glass Walls and Doors: The new glass elements around the stairwell keep the space visually connected, making the entire floor feel larger and brighter.
-
Hand-Hewed Stair Treads and Hand-Carved Banister: Each stair tread was meticulously shaped by hand, while the banister and newel posts were custom carved, giving the entire renovation a one-of-a-kind artisanal touch.
Phase Two: Revitalizing the First Floor
Once the upstairs was complete, we turned our attention to the heart of the home—its first-floor living space and kitchen.
-
New Wood Floors: We replaced old flooring with rich, warm wood that complements the home’s open layout and bright ambiance.
-
Custom Concrete Hearth: Designed to showcase a newly installed woodstove and pizza oven, this hearth is both functional and eye-catching—a perfect gathering spot during cooler months.
-
One-of-a-Kind Wooden Light Bars: Over several weeks, our team handcrafted unique wooden light bars that circle the entire downstairs. These custom fixtures balance form and function, tying the space together with a soft, inviting glow.
